Can’t get online, can’t get by – Get Online Week 19-25 October

Get Online Week 2026 starts next Monday (19-25 October), and across Barnet we are shining a spotlight on the importance of digital inclusion. Being online is now part of everyday life. We use the internet to look for work, access health services, manage bills, communicate with family and friends and access essential information. But not everybody has the same access, equipment, confidence or skills.

That is why Barnet’s Digital Inclusion programme brings together council services, community organisations, libraries, health, housing, employment services and volunteers to help residents overcome those barriers. Throughout this week there will be events and places where residents can get practical face-to-face support.

Highlights include how residents can access connectivity and devices, introduce the people providing trusted support and celebrate the organisations making digital inclusion part of everyday community life.

Get Online Week is one week of activity – but Barnet’s digital-support network operates throughout the year.
